Start with where your child is today
Children arrive at Quran learning with different experiences. Some are becoming familiar with Arabic letters; others can read words but need help connecting them smoothly. A child who has memorized a passage may still need support reading it from the page.
The useful first step is to discuss what your child can do comfortably, what feels difficult and what your family hopes to work towards. A starting level should help a child learn without comparing them with siblings or classmates.
- New to Arabic letters and reading
- Beginning to connect sounds and words
- Practising more fluent, attentive recitation
An online lesson still needs a calm learning space
Online teaching allows a family to attend from home. Clear sound, a screen the child can see and a nearby parent can make the experience easier. A simple setup is often more helpful than a crowded desk or many learning materials.
Alef Lam Meem offers online one-to-one Quran learning for children ages 5–13, using Zoom or Google Meet. Each session lasts one hour (60 minutes), at CAD 25, 30 or 35 for levels one, two and three respectively. Teaching languages and the exact reading, pronunciation and memorization scope still need confirmation before real booking opens.
Choose a next step together
A manageable goal might be reading a short line more comfortably or returning to a familiar passage with greater attention. Consistency matters more than rushing through a book. Ask the teacher how practice will be explained to parents and how the child's next step will be reviewed.
